The company behind EasySpeed
EasySpeed is a swim analytics platform operated from Santiago, Chile. We help competitive swimmers and coaches track, analyze, and improve performance through video-based biomechanical analysis.
When we say "EasySpeed", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we are referring to the EasySpeed platform and team.
2.Data We Collect
What information we gather and why
Account Information
- Name and email — to create and manage your account
- Birth date — to determine age tier and apply minor protections
- Gender — to display relevant swim event categories
- Password — stored securely using industry-standard hashing (we never see your password)
Swimming Data
- Race videos — uploaded by you or your coach for biomechanical analysis
- Performance metrics — speed, turn times, underwater distances, stroke counts, and pace data extracted from video analysis
- Practice data — training sets, attendance, and workout details entered by coaches
Technical Data
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and screen size to optimize your experience
- Usage data — pages visited and features used, collected via PostHog analytics to improve the platform
Wearable & Health Data
- Heart rate data — resting heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV), synced from your connected device
- Recovery metrics — recovery score, strain, blood oxygen (SpO2), and skin temperature
- Sleep data — sleep duration, sleep stages (light, deep, REM), sleep efficiency, and respiratory rate
- Workout data — workout strain, average/max heart rate, and heart rate zone durations
3.How We Use Your Data
The purposes behind data collection
- Provide the core service — video analysis, performance tracking, and progress charts
- Enable coach-athlete collaboration — coaches see their team athletes' data to guide training
- Send essential communications — account verification, password resets, and subscription updates
- Improve the platform — anonymous usage analytics help us build better features
- Process payments — billing information is handled directly by Stripe and Mercado Pago (we never store card numbers)
- Display wearable health and recovery data to you and, if you are on a team, to your coach for training planning purposes
4.Data Sharing
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share data in these limited cases:
- Your coach — coaches on your team can see your name, performance data, and videos you've shared with them
- Service providers — we use trusted third-party services to operate the platform (see Section 8)
- Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of our users
You control what gets shared. Sharing preferences can be adjusted at any time from your account settings.
5.Protection of Minors
Special protections for athletes under 18
Most competitive swimmers are minors. We take their protection seriously:
- Under 13 — children under 13 may not create an EasySpeed account. Our Terms of Service require a minimum age of 13.
- Ages 13-15 — athletes in this age range require verifiable parental or guardian consent before they can use sharing features. A consent email is sent to the parent/guardian, who must approve by clicking a secure link.
- Ages 16+ — athletes 16 and older may use EasySpeed independently.
Parents and guardians can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us at hello@easyspeed.cl.
Coaches are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental permissions before uploading videos of minor athletes or inviting them to the platform.
6.Video Data
How we handle swim videos
Video is central to EasySpeed. Here is how we handle it:
- Videos are stored securely on cloud infrastructure and are only accessible to the athlete and authorized coaches
- Videos are processed for biomechanical analysis (markers, speed calculations, segment breakdowns) — this data is derived and stored alongside the video
- Sharing a video with others requires explicit consent from the athlete (or their guardian, if a minor)
- You can delete your videos at any time from your account — deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
8.Third-Party Services
Services we use to operate the platform
We rely on trusted third-party services to deliver EasySpeed:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (hosted in US-East)
- Vercel — web hosting and content delivery
- Stripe & Mercado Pago — payment processing (we never store your card details)
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- PostHog — privacy-focused product analytics
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI-powered practice generation (text only, no video data sent to AI)
- WHOOP — wearable device integration for recovery, sleep, and strain data (only if you choose to connect your device)
Each service has its own privacy policy. We select providers that meet strong security and privacy standards.
9.Your Rights
You control your data
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export — download your performance data and analysis history
